Hasan shindi

A Syrian Kurdish poet, writer and politician who opposed the Assad regime and called for its overthrow since 2002. He also worked to restore the Syrian Kurdish political decision. He was one of the survivors of the Hama massacre south of the stadium in 1982.

He was an activist in the Kurdish March uprising against the Assad regime in northern Syria in 2004 and was the first to topple pictures of Assad in Afrin. He then founded an armed organization with his comrades in the Afrin mountains demanding the liberation of the Kurdish regions from the Assad authorities. After his comrades and relatives were arrested in Syria, he took refuge in Iraqi Kurdistan and founded the Kurdish Democratic Accord Party with the martyr Kamal Shahin to restore the Syrian Kurdish political decision. After the assassination of the martyr Kamal Shahin by the Kurdistan Workers' Party, Hassan Shandi took refuge in the city of Koya Sanjak and from there he founded the Syrian Kurdish Brotherhood Movement in 2008, where the organization carried out several operations against Assad's henchmen in Aleppo and Afrin until his sister, relatives and comrades were arrested by the Assad regime.

In 2009, he founded a Kurdish cultural association in Iraqi Kurdistan aiming to unite Syrian Kurds under one umbrella and was elected its president.

In 2011, he participated in the Syrian revolution and its coordination committees and their activities began in toppling the statue of Assad in Afrin and then forming Kurdish revolutionary cells in different Syrian regions, until he was invited to the Syrian Conference for Change in Antalya and was chosen as a member of the conference's rescue committee.

Then in the same year he headed to coordinate between the Syrian Free Officers who defected from the Assad regime in Idlib and the Turkish border and they chose him as the coordinator of the movement led by the martyr Hussein Harmoush 2011. He read the first statement of the movement in 2011 in front of dozens of Arab and foreign media outlets, then joined the Free Syrian Army and participated in operations with it against the Assad regime with the rest of the Syrians in the revolution against the criminal Assad and his allies in northern Syria.

In 2014, he was one of the founders of the Kurdish Cultural Association of Gira in Istanbul 2014. After the National Army factions entered Afrin, he called for the Afrin Rescue Conference and participated in establishing the conference and received the highest votes and became the official spokesman for the conference and contributed mainly to establishing local councils in Afrin and its environs in 2018. He rejected demographic change and demanded that Afrin be returned to its people and that all detainees be pardoned. He also demanded an end to the injustice of the factions against the people of Afrin until an assassination attempt was made against him and he fled to the Netherlands, where he participated in establishing the Syrian National Authority.

He has dozens of articles and interviews on Arab, Kurdish and foreign channels and held several seminars in Turkey and Europe.

He has four books in Arabic, including a book on the Kurdish issue in Syria and a book in Kurdish.

He speaks Arabic, Turkish, Kurdish and English.

In The Hague, Netherlands, the country where Hasan shindi resides, he was elected to the administrative committee as an organizational official, stressing that the Syrian Kurds were and still are patriots and support the overthrow of the criminal Assad.
